LOCAL NEEDS, LOCAL DOLLARS, LOCAL DECISION-MAKING

Launched in early 2025 with volunteer and financial support from the Colesville Rotary Club, the Colesville Rotary Community Foundation raises funds and makes grants to support nonprofit organizations and programs in the Town of Colesville.

We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a separate, independent entity from the Colesville Rotary Club, with a separate Board of Directors.

OUR MISSION

The Colesville Rotary Community Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for Town of Colesville residents—particularly the neediest—by:

• Inspiring generosity and impact through philanthropic giving

• Connecting donors’ charitable goals to Colesville’s current and future needs

• Providing charitable grants to worthy organizations that serve Colesville and/or the Harpursville Central School District, qualify as 501(c)(3) exempt organizations or public entities, and have an impact on at least one of these Colesville Rotary Club service areas: Help for the Less Fortunate, Education for All Ages, Children and Youth, Arts and Culture, or Quality of Life in Colesville

When we look to the future, this is what we aspire to achieve:

Thanks to Colesville Rotary Community Foundation and its partners, existing and new organizations in the Town of Colesville will have access to realistic funding streams that increase their stability, sustainability, and capacity to provide essential services.

 

We are building the Foundation as a trusted, accountable organization that:​

• offers people who care about Colesville a place to "give back"

• grows year by year through donations and careful management

• impacts Colesville's areas of greatest need and improves the quality of life in the township

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

These shared commitments guide our work:

Local. We are committed to the Town of Colesville, and to offering ways for friends to help friends and neighbors to help neighbors.

Integrity. We act with honesty and transparency to steward the resources entrusted to us.

Opportunity. We support pathways for local organizations to grow and thrive.

Resourcefulness. We work to minimize the Foundation’s costs so we can maximize the funds available to support our local organizations now and in the future.

Balance. We balance short-term current needs in the town with expected longer-term future issues when we make funding decisions so our ability to provide significant funds can be sustained over time.

Collaboration. We establish connections with and partner (when possible) with leaders, volunteers, and organizations in the Town of Colesville to maximize the difference together we can make for people in the township.

Accountability. We take responsibility for the decisions we make—even when they are difficult—and the processes that we build.
